Surabaya is hit by dengue fever, the hospital owned by the Surabaya city government is full

SURABAYA – In the midst of the pandemic, cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in Indonesia have increased until now. Patients suffering from Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) continue to fill hospitals.

As in one of the hospitals owned by the Surabaya City Government, namely Dr. Soewandhie Hospital which is located at Jl. Tambak Rejo Surabaya is full of BED (beds) due to the large number of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) patients due to the bite of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito, Monday (17/1/2022) yesterday.

The news of the large number of DHF patients in the hospital reached the ears of the Deputy Chairperson of the Surabaya DPRD, Reni Astuti, who immediately made a visit in order to ensure and check related health services at the dr Soewandhie Hospital owned by the Surabaya City Government.

“When I was in the hospital, most of the patients who were hospitalized were DHF patients. The number was 14 patients,” he said, Wednesday (19/1/2022).

The female figure from ITS alumni and also the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) politician suggested that if it was found that the condition of the inpatient room for DHF sufferers was full, the patient would temporarily receive treatment in the ER first.

“Or you can be referred to another hospital that accepts BPJS membership, such as to the Bhakti Dharma Husada Hospital, and in principle Dr. Soewandhie has provided the best health services,” he explained.

For your information, Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is an acute epidemic disease caused by a virus transmitted by Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus.

Infected patients will have symptoms in the form of mild to high fever, accompanied by headaches, pain in the eyes, muscles and joints, to spontaneous bleeding.

How to overcome or prevent the spread of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) during the Covid-19 pandemic is as follows:

1. Keep doing the Eradication of Mosquito Nests through the 1 House 1 Jumantik Movement with 3M Plus.

2. Eradication of mosquito nests at home can be done by spraying (indoor spraying) with household pesticide products.

3. If there are signs and symptoms of DHF, immediately report to the RT/RW and Puskesmas.

4. If necessary, come to health care facilities, wear masks, wash hands frequently with soap and running water and maintain physical distance.

5. Tell the doctor or health worker about a history of close contact with a Covid-19 patient or a history of visits from areas affected by Covid-19.

6. If the test result is positive for dengue, follow the recommendations of the doctor and the executor of Epidemiological Investigators (PE)
