supporters ready to snatch victory on the eve of the match against Boulogne-Levallois

ADA Blois supporters are preparing to welcome Victor Wembanyama this Saturday, February 4 and promise a fiery atmosphere to try to create the feat.

A jam-packed Jeu de Paume awaits Victor Wembanyama this Saturday, February 4. ADA Blois should equal its attendance record with 2,850 people expected. A craze never seen before. When tickets went on sale in early December, all sold out in ten minutes! Same excitement when the club announced a hundred standing places at the start of the week, all reserved in 30 seconds.

In a Jeu de Paume acquired for the cause of the ADA Blois of Mbaye Ndiaye and Timothé Vergiat, the groups of supporters of La Ruche and the Bourdons Verts will have a key role of 6th man to play to push them to achieve a resounding feat. As at the start of the season against Asvel, three-time reigning French champion.

La Ruche, a group of supporters created in 2014, has 116 members. A figure that has more than doubled since last season under the effect of ADA Blois’ first historic climb to Betclic Elite. The president of the association Christian Maupetit plays his role to the full: “Our goal is to animate the Jeu de Paume at home and to receive the opposing supporters”. Animation levels: songs, drums, tifos are out, at home and outside. “We made a few trips to Paris, Roanne, Le Mans, Cholet and we are preparing Limoges soon”, assure Christian Maupetit.

All these volunteer supporters ensure the atmosphere at all ADA Blois matches. Les Bourdons Verts, the other supporters club, are enjoying this first season in Betclic Elite. “We are enjoying being in Betclic Elite even if we are a little tough at the moment. We had taken advantage of our initial four victories at the start of the season”, assures François Xavier Médina, president of the association since the summer of 2022.

Same operation as for La Ruche, the members are volunteers and meet every day of the match to support the ADA.

Despite his slight disappointment with the results of the ADA in the league, Laurent Roulet, Community Manager of La Ruche, does not hide his pleasure in attending high-level matches almost every weekend: “We have big teams in front of us. Everyone will take the current 16th place (synonym of maintaining) at the end of the season, it would be really extraordinary to experience a second season in Betclic Elite”.

This Saturday, February 4, it is the Boulogne-Levallois of the jewel Victor Wembanyama who presents himself against ADA Blois. The task looks tough. However, Les Bourdons Verts believe in it. The goal? “To win, we all have to be behind the team, pushing from the first minute to the last. It’s not because there’s the great Victor opposite that we can’t earn”.

La Ruche hopes for a tight encounter and a victory at the end. “A victory would be a good thing to take to cheer up the fans because we are a little frustrated at the moment. Winning at the Jeu de Paume would be very good in view of maintaining”.

They promise a fiery atmosphere at the Jeu de Paume: “We can put Boulogne-Levallois in danger. The Jeu de Paume will be full, armored. We will have had a good turnout for a long time, even forever”. An atmosphere that will depend mainly on the start of the match: “If there is intensity, if it catches on at the start of the match, we will be able to catch the whole room. If the match gets a little bogged down, it will be difficult to take the room with us”.

La Ruche and the Green Bumblebees also do not hide their admiration for “Wemby“. For François Xavier Médina who made the trip to the first leg, he is simply impressive: “His movements, his three-point shot, it’s not common for someone of his size. In addition, he has an incredible game vision”.

Laurent Roulet, from La Ruche, intends to take advantage of the passage of the “Wemby” phenomenon to the Jeu de Paume: “I think it’s an honor for the club to receive him at the Jeu de Paume. It will leave a small trace of his passage”. All supporters wish only happiness at the showcase of French basketball: “We wish him the best, we have to take advantage of it”. Before specifying all the same: “If we can lower his stats on Saturday, that won’t be a problem for us”.

Unsurprisingly, Victor Wembanyama will be the big star expected this Saturday, February 4 at the Jeu de Paume. The meeting between ADA Blois and Boulogne-Levallois can be followed on the antennas of France 3 Centre-Val de Loire and its website from 3:00 p.m.
