Support is available for young families – Freiburg

The Early Aid Network uses the “Catching up after Corona” funding program / city administration lists contact points.

The Corona pandemic, which began more than two years ago, is still affecting many families emotionally, writes the Freiburg city administration and has taken this as an opportunity to point out the many offers that are bundled in the “Early Help Network”. The target group are expectant parents and families with children under the age of three. Above all, the everyday life of young families has changed due to gaps in childcare, the loss of support from relatives, restricted exchange with other families, concerns about infection or existential worries.

The specialist offices in the network have adapted their offers for families with infants and small children to the situation: for example, counseling offers are also available via chat or video or are moved outdoors if necessary. “In order to specifically relieve and support young families in the corona pandemic, the range of services has also been significantly expanded,” says Christine Buchheit, Mayor of Education. The Federal Ministry for Family Affairs’ “Catching up after Corona” funding program, which will run until the end of the year, has made nine special offers for the “Early Help Network” possible.
