“The aim now is to further develop existing approaches, ensure the quality of training courses and extend the dual system to other professions,” says Derrer, who teaches economic sociology at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Standard of living instead of homeland
In recent years, more Romanians have emigrated than ever before. These are people who would like to live and work in their home country, but seek work abroad due to the higher standard of living in the West.
“Many Romanian training courses are not geared enough to the needs of the labor market,” says Michael Derrer, who has been traveling to Eastern Europe for many years on the case of the Roma minority.
