Phoenix Suns Add Two Guards on Exhibit 10 Contracts
PHOENIX – The Phoenix Suns have signed guards Damion Baugh and David Duke Jr. to exhibit 10 contracts, the team announced Tuesday. The signings bring the Suns’ training camp roster closer to full as they prepare for the upcoming season following a significant offseason overhaul.
Both Baugh and Duke will participate in training camp on non-guaranteed deals, with the expectation they will likely join the team’s G League affiliate, the Valley Suns, following the preseason. These moves represent a common strategy for NBA teams to bolster camp competition and identify potential talent for their G league rosters.
Baugh, a 6-foot-4 guard, spent last season primarily with the Charlotte Hornets on a two-way contract. Across 39 combined G League games with the Westchester Knicks and Greensboro Swarm, he averaged 12.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, 7.9 assists, and 1.6 steals per game.
Duke, also 6-foot-4, has spent the past two seasons on two-way contracts with the San Antonio Spurs. In 42 G League games with the Austin Spurs,he posted averages of 17.0 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.
The signings come as the Suns embark on a new era under first-year General Manager Brian Gregory and Head Coach Jordan ott. The team underwent substantial changes this offseason, trading kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets and allowing Bradley Beal to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers. devin Booker, recently extended with a significant contract, will now lead a roster featuring Dillon Brooks,Jalen Green, and a core of developing players.
