Summer weekend with heavy thunderstorms Inland

Fridays and Saturdays are hot in the summer with maximums of 25-28 degrees in many places, Weeronline reports. In the east it can be just 30 degrees on Saturday and we have a chance of winning the first local tropical day of the year.

After a cooler period with maximums usually between 15 and 21 degrees, it is much warmer from today. It’s not dry heat like in April and May, but the air is quite humid. As a result, it is oppressively warm and there is a chance of thunderstorms.

This afternoon it will be 21-22 degrees on the Wadden, 24-26 degrees in many other places and 27-28 degrees in the east. In the north and west the day starts with cloud fields, but after that it is sunny. Cloud fields appear in the southwest and south and in Zeeland this afternoon there is a chance of a single rain or thunderstorm. There is a chance of hail and wind gusts. A thunderstorm will also take place in Limburg, Brabant, the Betuwe and South Holland tonight.

Saturday in the east may be tropical

It is sunny on Saturday morning. In the afternoon, cumulus clouds are formed that grow into (thunder) showers. The heaviest showers are very likely for the east and northeast of the country. The chance of heavy wind gusts is small, but because the showers move slowly, a lot of rainwater can fall locally and there is a chance of waterlogging.

It will be 22-25 degrees in the western coastal provinces and 26-27 degrees inland. In the Achterhoek and Twente, the mercury may reach the tropical 30 degrees if the thunderstorms do not occur too quickly.

Also rain in the east on Sunday

On Sunday it will be less warm than today and tomorrow. The maxima are between 22 degrees on Texel and 25 degrees along the eastern border. The day starts sunny again and in the afternoon there are again some heavy thunderstorms, especially in the east and northeast.
