Summer Games Done Quick 2020, the speedrunning marathon was carried out despite the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) thanks to the magic of the Internet and the possibility of holding online events. There the video game community once again demonstrated that when they get together they can achieve great things and as proof we have that they raised $ 2.3 million for a good cause.
On its Twitter account, Game Done Quick, the group that is responsible for organizing these marathons, announced that the 2020 edition of Summer Games Done Quick has already ended. He also took the opportunity to reveal that the gaming community managed to raise $ 2.3 million. Thanks to the support of 20,430 donors who gave 33,639 contributions.
But where will this money go? It will go directly to Doctors Without Borders. It is a non-profit organization that provides aid to victims of natural disasters and armed conflicts.
We remind you that Summer Games Done Quick 2020 took place from August 16 to 23. There were 148 games of games being finished very quickly.

The following editions of Games Done Quick are already dated
The good news did not end there: the organizers took the opportunity to announce the next Games Done Quick dates.
According to official information, the next speedrunning event will be Fleet Fatales, which will be held from November 15 to 21. On the other hand, Awesome Games Done Quick 2020 will be held from January 3 to 10, 2021.
