Projects and activities with companies as well as introducing entrepreneurial thinking and action are essential goals that BHAK Oberwart has been pursuing for many years. Also in this school year the Oberwart School is pleased to receive a special award, “The Entrepreneurial School Award 2020”
“With the award, the school was included in the circle of the best schools for entrepreneurship education in Europe,” says director Andreas Lonyai with pleasure. The awards gala planned in Berlin ended virtually due to the COVID19 pandemic, but the joy about the award is all the greater. “The importance of the award can be seen from the fact that a total of only 39 schools from 25 European countries were selected from around 50,000 educational institutions, as announced in the online gala”, explains Lonyai.
Since 2014, “Junior Achievement Europe” (largest European organization dedicated to preparing young people for employment and entrepreneurship) has been presenting the Entrepreneurial School Award (TES), bringing particularly committed schools to the curtain that have a long-term strategy to promote entrepreneurial education for all school levels, invest in entrepreneurial education for teachers and are well networked with regional companies. This also promotes the entrepreneurial spirit of the students.
“After many successes and activities in recent years, the BHAK / BHAS Oberwart will also be the first school in Burgenland to receive certification as an entrepreneurship school at the ‘advanced level’. Due to COVID19, this honor will only be able to take place in spring 2021, ”explains the proud director.
