The SK Sturm announces the signing of Lukas Jäger. The 25-year-old comes from the German second division club 1. FC Nürnberg and signs a contract in Graz for the next two and a half years.

The defensive all-rounder came from the SCR Altach to the Franconia in the summer of 2017, but could never really prevail there, only had a body under ex-coach Damir Canadi. Jäger has played a total of 18 competitive games for the club.

Coach Nestor El Maestro is pleased: “Lukas brings with him exactly those virtues that I value. In addition to his footballing qualities, he is a player who goes to and beyond his limits and does not lose a ball. I am happy to have him in immediately of my team. “

“Sturm is a top Austrian address. I would like to contribute my experience and qualities and celebrate success together with the club and the fans,” said the former U21 team player.

Sports director Günter Kreissl says: “We have been interested in Lukas Jäger for a long time. Especially in the current situation with some injury problems within the squad its versatility on the defensive can be extremely valuable for us. In addition, it is of course a great investment in the future of the team. Lukas is known for his outstanding commitment and I am glad that at the right time we were able to sign him over the long term as an Austrian player in his prime. “
