Stuglis will not be able to help the Latvian national team in the matches of the PK qualification tournament – Football – Apollo.lv – Sports

On Thursday, the head coach of the Latvian national team Dainis Kazakevičs announced 28 players who have been invited to the national team to participate in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Montenegro, the Netherlands and Turkey. The team will gather together on Sunday, starting preparations for three matches on a busy schedule.

Stuglis was also on the list of candidates, but on Saturday the LFF reports that he will not be able to help the team due to health problems. His place will be taken by Tīdenbergs, who is playing in the Latvian Premier League team “Liepāja” this season.

LFF reports that Tīdenbergs will join the national team on Sunday.

Compared to the last national unit camp, Pavel Steinbor has returned to the rankings, who has been recognized as the best Latvian footballer of 2020. After the break, the national team also has defender Vitaly Maksimenko, who has previously played in Japan, and who is currently earning a living in Slovenia, as well as another defender Alexander Solovyov.

Also this time in the ranks of the goalkeepers is the potential national team debutant Krišjānis Zviedris, for whom this is the first invitation to the national team. All other invited players have already played at least three matches in national team shirts.

Kazakevich’s trust is still not earned by the forward striker Artūrs Karašauskas, who has been playing successfully for the last year.

In the first match of Group G, Latvia will host Montenegro at the Skonto Stadium on March 24, meet with the Netherlands at the Johann Kruif Stadium in Amsterdam on March 27, and with Turkey at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul on March 30.

The Norwegian and Gibraltar national teams will also play in European Zone G Subgroup.

In the European area, the samples are divided into ten subgroups, five by five samples and five by six samples. Ten group winners will qualify for the World Cup final, but ten runners-up and two top UEFA Nations League teams will be in the “play-off” round, which will be outside the top two in the sub-groups.

In the elimination tournament, 12 teams will be divided into three “play-off” branches, where in March 2022 three more participants of the final tournament will be determined.

The 2022 World Cup finals will take place in Qatar, and due to the hot weather, the tournament will be played in the winter from November 21 to December 18.

In 2022, Qatar will host the last World Cup final, with 32 teams taking part. The 2026 tournament, hosted by Canada, Mexico and the United States, will feature 48 national teams.
