(dpa) – According to a new study, the favorite medium for children between the ages of two and twelve is television. For 85 percent of them, television is clearly their preferred medium, ahead of tablets (63 percent) and smartphones (59 percent), according to a Forsa survey commissioned by the KKH commercial health insurance fund.
According to this, only the 10-12 year old group uses their smartphone (90 percent) a little more often than television (86 percent). 1001 parents with children of this age group were questioned.
Tanja Brunnert of the professional association of paediatricians recommends “without a screen up to three”. For children under the age of three, it is advisable to “avoid screen contact altogether”.
