Indonesian Student Party under the leadership of Eko Pratama has been approved by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights since the beginning of the year. BEM Nusantara, the stronghold of Dimas Prayoga, strongly condemned the existence of a party acting on behalf of the student.
“We from BEM Nunsantara deeply regret and strongly condemn the emergence of a party in the name of and using the word student in the name of the party. This is a claim that is very detrimental to all Indonesian students,” said Central Secretary of BEM Nusantara Ridho Alamsyah, the stronghold of Central Coordinator Dimas Prayoga, when contacted, Saturday (23/4/2022).
Ridho says Indonesian Student Party is a stealth party. He also questioned the process until Eko Pratama was elected as general chairman.
“Because of this, a stealth party that suddenly appears using the name Student whose origin is unclear and who knows when the congress will be held, so that Eko Pratama was agreed to be the general chairman of the Indonesian Student Party,” he said.
“There is no socialization or national consolidation in the formation of the party, suddenly it has become a party,” he continued.
Ridho said the formation of the Indonesian Student Party was an attempt to structure silence. Ridho assessed that other groups of students should also raise their voices.
“This is a very structured effort to suppress and silence students’ critical voices. Other student groups such as BEM and the Cipayung Group which are also formed from student elements should also raise their voices because they are indirectly also claimed by the existence of this party,” said Ridho.
Eko Pratama is also the Central Coordinator of BEM Nusantara, opposite Dimas Prayoga’s camp. Previously, it was known that BEM Nusantara, Eko Pratama’s camp, had met with Wiranto. Ridho himself admitted that he did not know whether there was a connection between the formation of the Indonesian Student Party and Wiranto.
“I also don’t know for sure whether Mr. Wiranto has anything to do with the formation of this party, but we suspect that there are big donors who want to break up the student movement behind the birth of the Indonesian Student Party,” he said.
Even so, Ridho ensured that the Indonesian Student Party did not represent all Indonesian students. Because according to him, students are always in control of government policies.
“Once again, we emphasize that the party does not represent all Indonesian students who are actually agents of control of every policy issued by the government. And we from BEM Nusantara have absolutely no involvement in the party,” he added.
It was previously known that in the Letter of Submission of Data on Political Parties That Have Legal Entities from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, it contained data from the Indonesian Student Party, it is true that there is an Indonesian Student Party that is recognized by the state. In this document is written the Decree Number of the Minister of Law and Human Rights for the Indonesian Student Party, namely M.HH-6.AH.11.01 YEAR 2022, January 21, 2022.
The Indonesian Student Party is led by Eko Pratama who is also the Central Coordinator of BEM Nusantara. BEM Nusantara Eko’s camp is the camp that met with the Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres) Wiranto, last April 8, prior to the April 11 BEM SI student demonstration. At that time, the BEM Nusantara led by Eko. chose not to take to the streets on April 11.
