Four years after his death, several of his former “playboy bunnies” come forward with shocking stories.

Hugh Hefner died in 2017, 91 years old, and the stars stood in line to offer condolences. Four years later, a ten-episode documentary has been launched on A&E about life inside, and about Hefner’s darker sides.

“Secrets of Playboy” is the name of the series, and it is as far from a tribute as you can get.

– He was like a vampire, he sucked the life out of all these young women for decades, says Sondra Theodore, who was one of Hefner’s many girlfriends in the 70’s.

She accuses Hefner of “grooming” and of manipulating her into joining orgies and filming sex without permission.

Holly Madison describes, according to USA Today, Playboy as like a sect, and says that having sex with Hefner was traumatic. She tells of a life that led to excessive drinking and suicidal thoughts. She says she was brainwashed and controlled in such a way that she was afraid to leave “Playboy mansion” writes the BBC.

CALLED CALL AMERICAN ICON: Hugh Hefner was hailed in many channels after his death in 2017. Now a quite different picture has been drawn of the mogul.

Former employees tell of women who were raped by guests and people in Hefner’s vicinity, and that such incidents were attempted to be hidden by “clean-up teams”. Others say Hefner drugged them so they became compliant, writes USA Today.

According to Sondra Theodore, a “tradition” every Thursday was the “pig night” where sex workers were “examined” by a doctor and then abused for sex by Hefner’s VIP friends.

Playboy, the magazine Hefner founded, has moved out in defense of the women and distanced itself from the previously praised boss.

– Today’s Playboy is not Hugh Hefner’s Playboy, it says in an open letter that was published this weekend according to the BBC.

– We trust the stories these women tell and support those who have come forward to share their experiences.

The magazine claims they will continue to confront parts of their own history that do not reflect current values.

Hefner founded Playboy in 1953, and at most the magazine sold over seven million copies.
