‘Strictly Come Dancing‘ Hosts Announce Dani Dyer’s Injury withdrawal During Live Broadcast
London - Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman paused teh live opening of Strictly Come Dancing on Friday, September 26, to announce that Dani Dyer had withdrawn from the competition due to an ankle fracture sustained during rehearsals. Dyer, known for her role on Love Island and as the daughter of actor Danny Dyer, suffered the injury after a fall on Friday and an MRI scan confirmed the fracture.
“Before we get started, earlier this week, Dani Dyer had to withdraw from the competition on medical advice after suffering an injury in training,” Daly stated. winkleman added, “Dani, we will miss you so much and all of us are sending you all our love.” Daly echoed the sentiment, saying, “Lots of love, Dani.”
Strictly Come Dancing bosses subsequently announced that Amber Davies, also a Love Island winner, woudl partner with nikita Kuzmin in Dyer’s place.
dyer released a statement explaining the situation: “I had a fall on Friday in rehearsals and landed funny.I thought I had rolled my foot but it swelled up badly over the weekend and after an MRI scan yesterday,it turns out I have fractured my ankle. Apparently doing the quickstep on a fracture is not advisable and the doctors have saeid I am not allowed to dance so I’ve had to pull out of the show.”
Despite the setback, Dyer intends to remain involved as a viewer. “I am so going to miss dancing with Nikita but will of course be watching closely and cheering all the couples on,” she said. dyer is a mother of three and married to west Ham footballer Jarrod Bowen.
