The original idea was that Will Byers would kill none other than Bob Newby.
When the Duffer brothers were busy developing the second season of Netflix series Stranger Things, they wanted Will Byers to kill a great character. None other than Bob, who had to believe it at the end of the season, was the candidate.
Bob Newby was Joyce Byers ‘sweetheart in the series’ second season. He managed to conquer the hearts of the viewers quickly, mainly because he was not very serious and actually always had a good mood. But he was killed by the Demodogs in the penultimate episode of the series.

Original plan
However, the original plan was to have Bob die in the third episode. The idea was that Bob would take Will to school and in the car tell Will about his own fears in life. But at that moment Will has already been completely taken over by the Mind Flayer and would kill Bob right after that beautiful moment.

However, the cast and crew loved Bob and decided to keep him as a new symbol of innocence, just like Barb was in the first season.
