Of the 17 departments in which the Paraguayan territory is distributed, 12 are affected by severe weather phenomena. In the Eastern Region they are recorded in San Pedro, Cordillera, Guairá, Caaguazú, north of Caazapá and north of Misiones. Likewise, the departments of Paraguarí, central and north of Alto Paraná, Central, north of Ñeembucú and Canindeyú are included, while in the Chaco it is reported in Presidente Hayes.
The Municipality of Asunción urges people to avoid the areas most affected by the rains because they generate intense flows. In the same way, they ask to be careful on the streets and routes, since the fall of trees is a constant with each storm.
The extended forecast for Asunción indicates that storms would be recorded during the morning and afternoon of this Wednesday, while scattered rainfall is expected for the week. Likewise, it is estimated that today the temperature would drop slightly and would not exceed 30ºC.
Paraguay River, benefited
The intense rains that are registered in almost the entire national territory would raise the level of the water channels. The main beneficiary of the rains is the Paraguay River, which has not yet been able to regain the height necessary for optimal barge navigation.
