Santiago Pérez, president of this association has published a video where you can see this mixture that is damaging the Mar Menor.

He states that “this situation has been maintained over time during the last two years, without the administrations having put any remedy to avoid it.”

Pérez has commented that “the entry of this brine together with the contribution of nitrates corrupts the seabed and contributes to the deterioration of the lagoon.”

From Stop Floods he asks that “the origin of these brines that presumably could come from illegal desalination plants that are still operating in the Campo de Cartagena and that are currently being investigated be investigated.”
