A married couple with the initials SP and HW tested positive during a random swab test antigen at the KM 34B, Tol Jakarta-Cikampek. However, both of them fled when they were about to be taken to RSDC Wisma Atlet, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.
This incident occurred on Sunday (23/5/2021), around 16.30 WIB. The white Avanza, which was driven by SP (husband), was initially subject to inspection by the police at the backflow blocking post Km 34B of the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road.
As per the procedure, travelers must undergo antigen swabs on the spot. As a result, they are either reactive or positive.
“The husband and wife traveled from Subang to Jakarta, when passing through the KM 34B Integrated Post they were subjected to a rapid antigen random test carried out by the Metro Jaya Police Traffic Directorate and tested positive for Covid-19,” explained Dirlantas Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo in his statement to reporters on Monday (24/5/2021).
The officers immediately prepared an isolation place for the two of them. However, seeing an opportunity to escape, the couple immediately stepped on the gas.
Trackable to Vehicle Address
The first action the police took was tracing the vehicle number used by the couple. It is known that the vehicle was registered under the name HW, which is located at Makassar, East Jakarta.
“Then we asked the Makassar Police Chief and the Makassar Covid-19 Task Force to visit the residence concerned and it was found out that both of them had not lived at that address for 5 years,” added Sambodo.
