As highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI) broke out recently in Jeollanam-do, stock prices of companies related to broiler chickens and animal medicines rose sharply on 5.

Daehan New Pharm (4.85%), Komipharm (4.69%), Junjin Biopharmaceuticals (4.21%), Chesys (3.96%) and Jeil Bio (3.11%) also increased, which are tied to animal medicine.

The previous day, the Central Incident Management Headquarters for Highly Pathogenic AI announced that highly pathogenic AI (type H5N1) had occurred in a duck farm in Muan-gun and a chicken farm respectively hens in Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do.

Separately, H5-type AI antigen was also detected in a laying hen farm in Hampyeong-gun, and whether it is highly pathogenic is being confirmed.

On this day, the heavy water source announced that the risk of highly pathogenic AI outbreaks in some cities and counties in Jeollanam-do has increased, and the scope of preventive slaughter will be expanded.
