Stock exchange – Clariant shares wanted – shareholder wants more money

The major shareholder Sabic has proposed for the upcoming General Meeting that the company distribute a special dividend of CHF 2 per share. “More money for the shareholders is always good,” said a market watcher.

Clariant rose by 3.1 percent to 18.76 francs at around 9.45 a.m. and clearly outperformed the overall market measured by the SPI (+ 0.86%).

Clariant had already made a special payment of CHF 3 per share last summer, but the regular dividend of CHF 55 was withheld due to the uncertainties related to the pandemic. Analysts recall that Clariant had promised to compensate the amount in the coming year if conditions permit.
