Fioc (Film Exhibitors United Organization of Kerala), an organization of theater owners, has said that cinema theaters will not be opened in the state. The decision was taken at the General Body meeting held in Kochi. The full meeting of Fioc was held today. Earlier, a section of members had demanded that the theaters be reopened at a loss. There was a great deal of discussion about this. The meeting started this morning and ended in the evening.
The meeting finally came to a decision not to open the theaters. Another big release is the Tamil movie ‘Master’. It is not yet clear whether Malayalam movies will be available in theaters after this film. Distributors and manufacturers have not yet clarified their position on the issue.
In this situation, there was a general feeling among the members that opening a theater only for a Tamil film would lead to huge losses. Based on this, Fiok decided not to open theaters in the state for the time being.
