still fewer hospital patients, 30 million first-time vaccines

The number of patients with Covid-19 continued to decrease, according to figures released on Saturday by Public Health France, while the threshold of 30 million French people having received at least one dose of vaccine has been crossed. The health agency announced 12,496 hospitalized patients (against 12,712 the day before and 14,532 last Saturday), including 198 who entered the hospital in the last 24 hours (313 Friday).

In critical care services – which receive the most serious cases – there were 2,110 patients (2,163 Friday and 2,525 on June 5), including 48 admitted in the last 24 hours (66 Friday). The outbreak has killed 34 people in 24 hours, according to a figure released on Saturday, bringing the total number of hospital deaths to just under 84,000 since the outbreak began in early 2020 for a total of more than 110,000 dead.

30 million first-time vaccinated

The threshold of 30 million first-time vaccinated was crossed this Saturday, Prime Minister Jean Castex announced in the afternoon. “Objective achieved!
