Stijn and Nuria, Nuria and Stijn. The primal couple from the VTM program ‘Blindmarried’ has been together for five years now. A success story, but they too have had their ups and downs. Financial worries, for example, put pressure on their relationship, Stijn tells in Story.

“We are very proud of where we are after five years”, Stijn celebrates his wedding anniversary. “Everyone knows it wasn’t love at first sight, but today I have a lot of respect for Nuria. She is a very strong woman and I am a very satisfied man. ”
And Nuria is also happy with ‘her’ Stijn. “The man I married is not the man I could ever fall for, but Stijn has become more himself. He radiates a lot more confidence and friendliness and comes across less stiff and harsh. I also restyled it a bit, with different glasses and a nicer haircut. ”
Financial stress
“What was the biggest challenge for us as a couple? The financial stress when I had to look for a new job twice ”, says Stijn. “It put the most pressure on our relationship. I left the family business to be more with my family, but I had no prospect of a new job. I was later able to work at E5 Mode, but during the first lockdown I became technically unemployed and was fired in May. Fortunately we were able to put our home loan on hold… But it was tough: Nuria continued to work, so the care for the children fell on me. Nice to have the children with me, but after a few months I had had it. I was very happy when I found a new job in June (laughs).”
