Raheem Sterling did not play in England’s World Cup Round of 16 against Senegal due to family reasons. According to British media, he has returned home to England after a burglary. On Wednesday, Sky News reported that two people had been arrested and charged with the burglary at Sterling.
So, did Sterling play his part in Qatar? It doesn’t look like that.
The Telegraph says the star is considering a return and that he believes and expects to return to his international side on Friday night.
The Sun has similar details, reporting that what Sterling has left to get on a plane bound for the World Cup and quarter-final against France on Saturday are details about his family’s safety.
According to The Sun, £300,000 worth of jewelery and watches, equivalent to around 3.8 million kronor, were stolen in connection with the burglary.
The World Cup quarter-final between England and France can be seen on Saturday on TV4 and C More with kick-off at 20.00.
