Stay Safe: Nuneaton Council Warns Against Open Water Swimming

Nuneaton‌ and Bedworth Borough‌ Council and Warwickshire Police are advising against swimming in open water following the⁤ death⁢ of a‌ 27-year-old man. Wojciech Berlan, from Redditch,‍ drowned in EnsorS Pool,⁢ Nuneaton, on Sunday, August 17 ​ [[3]]. Authorities ‍warn that lakes, ​pools, rivers, canals, ‌and quarries carry‌ dangers such as uneven surfaces, deep mud, strong currents, sudden drops, and unexpected obstacles ‍ [[1]].‌ Additionally, water temperatures can ⁤be colder than expected, even during heatwaves,⁢ and there is a⁢ risk of waterborne diseases [[2]]. Cllr Brady ⁤Hughes, Portfolio Holder for Leisure ​and Health, expressed condolences to the family and friends‌ of Mr. Berlan​ and urged ⁣people to stay ‌out of‌ open water [[3]].
