State of emergency in Moldova declared for two months after threats from Gazprom

The Moldovan parliament declared a state of emergency after Russian Gazprom threatened to cut off gas supplies. The state of emergency in the energy sector will operate for two months.

It is reported that 58 deputies voted for the introduction of a state of emergency, this regime will be valid for 60 days.

According to Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilitsa, the introduction of the state of emergency will make it possible to quickly make decisions to provide gas to the population, including bypassing legislative norms. According to her, this mode will allow optimizing gas consumption.
