Winter alert in the city that never sleeps! An onset of winter has paralyzed New York and parts of the Northeastern United States. In view of the predicted snowfall of up to half a meter, the state of emergency imposed by New York Mayor Bill de Blasio came into force on Monday morning (local time).
Among other things, this restricts all movements and car journeys in the city. Heavy rain and strong winds are expected to continue through Monday at least.
