State government advises on new corona rules | NDR.de – news

Status: 08.01.2021 6:53 a.m.

In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the implementation of the new Corona rules is being discussed today. Children should not be included in the contact restrictions, and there are also deviations in schools.

Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania’s state government is advising today in a video conference with representatives from municipalities, trade unions and business about new corona rules. The basis is the agreements made by the federal and state governments on Tuesday. The agreements between the country leaders and the chancellor still have to be laid down in a separate country ordinance.

Deviation from contact restrictions: children probably do not count

Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania will largely adopt the rules. This also includes exit restrictions for areas with a 7-day incidence of more than 200. The Mecklenburg Lake District is currently affected. There are discussions about the tightened contact restrictions, according to which members of a household are only allowed to meet one other person, whereby children are also counted. In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania there may be exceptions – mainly to relieve separated couples with children or grandparents who look after their grandchildren. In the state parliament, the SPD, CDU and the Left agreed that children should not be among the contact persons.

Graduating classes are allowed to go to school

Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is also going its own way with schools: graduating classes can go back to school from next Monday. Grades 1 to 6 should return from January 18, if the incidence value in a district or an urban district is below 50 – at the moment this is only the case in Rostock.

New regulations are expected to come into force on Sunday

It is still unclear when the new state ordinance will come into force. According to the State Chancellery, this must happen on Monday at the latest, but an earlier point in time is generally possible. Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig (SPD) assumes that the new rules can come into force on Sunday.
