The Coronavirus has hit the tourism industry hard, but it has also had an impact on tech companies. The “The Ark” foundation, in collaboration with the economy, tourism and innovation department of the canton of Valais, is launching the “Digitourism” project to bring these two worlds together.
“As technology and tourism companies are relatively available, now is a good time to implement new digital solutions. These will make it possible to be more efficient or to manage the imposed hygiene or social distancing constraints, “explains Jérôme Salamin, program manager at The Ark Foundation.
This call for solutions encourages innovators in the Valais digital transformation to team up with tourism companies to offer digital solutions that can be quickly mobilized and are particularly useful in restarting tourist activity. This action will financially support the adaptation of these technical solutions so that they are operational in less than six weeks.
A jury of tourism and digitalization professionals will choose up to eight winners, who will each win 10,000 francs and coaching.
