As part of the “Stars of Sports” competition in 2021, the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) and the Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken, in cooperation with the ARD morning magazine, will award an audience prize.

Personalities are up for election whose sports club has already received the Star of Sport in silver and is therefore nominated for the “Big Star of Sport” in gold 2021 and who have been selected by the federal jury.

You can vote from now until January 22, 2022, 12:00 p.m. The winner with the most votes will be announced in the live stream on sportschau.de on January 23, 2022 from 6 p.m. and will receive a cash prize of 2,000 euros. There is 1,000 euros for second place and 500 euros for third place.

Kaan Cevahir is deputy chairman and project manager of AS-KA-DO from Hückelhoven in North Rhine-Westphalia. As part of the “Young Minds” initiative, the martial arts club introduces young people to current political and social issues – for example through digital formats or so-called opinion parliaments, where current political and social issues can be discussed with experts. AS-KA-DO is also characterized by its cultural diversity: “Our approximately 150 members have their roots in more than 40 different cultural areas and the majority are made up of children and young people – they should learn how important their own opinion is”. , says Kaan Cevahir.
