At the moment, there are about 900 satellites from SpaceX in orbit around the Earth. This is much less than the target, but enough to ensure internet access as part of beta testing. As the company takes more satellites into space, the speed and stability of the network should increase. For now, the tests are aimed at residents USA and Canada, but in 2021 they will be expanded to include applicants from most of the rest of the world.
