Starbucks stops advertising on social networks – La Stampa

Starbucks Corp will pause advertising on all social media platforms as it explores the best ways to help stop the spread of hate speech, he said on a note Sunday. The company “will have internal discussions and with media partners and civil rights organizations to stop the spread of hate speech.”

The statement added that this break will not include YouTube. The company will continue to publish posts on social media without paid promotions. He also said that although Starbucks is pausing the advertisement, it is not joining the “Stop Hate For Profit” boycott campaign that began earlier this month. More than 160 companies, including Verizon Communications and Unilever Plc, have signed up to stop buying advertisements on Facebook Inc, the world’s largest social media platform.
The campaign, initially only in the United States, is now preparing to go global. The organizers have explained that they will contact all the larger companies directly to convince them to join and also do so outside the United States.
