Starbreeze: Former CFO sentenced for insider trading – News

Despite a successful structuring allowing investors to take an interest in the studio again, Starbreeze still suffers the consequences of its insolvency.

Remember: in December 2018, the Swedish Economic Crime Authority carried out a office search of Starbreeze, looking for evidence for a possible insider trading. A suspected time, the CEO of the company, Bo Andersson Klint was quickly excluded, but that did not end the investigation.

Indeed, we learned through our colleagues from Games industry that the suspicions of insider trading were justified, and that they concerned theformer financial director of the studio, Sebastian Ahlskog. Aware of the problems that awaited the studio before they were made public, the latter sold his shares, in order to recover as much money as possible. By this abuse, Ahlskog was able pocket nearly € 66,500, sum seized by the courts on the occasion of the conviction, which also costs Ahlskog a fine of € 3,800.
