BREDA – A staff member of Den Hey-Acker in Breda has tested positive for the corona virus. Various detainees and colleagues are therefore being tested. A prisoner who has symptoms has been set aside. That reports Broadcasting Brabant.
The Custodial Institutions Service (DJI) confirms the reports to Omroep Brabant. They emphasize that it is not a corona outbreak. The contamination of the staff member and the prisoner’s symptoms are said to be unrelated. Tests and contact research should provide more clarity.
The Breda youth prison Den Hey-Acker made big headlines two months ago when there was an ‘acute situation’ in which no contact could be made with one of the employees. Several police units and special arrest teams were then called in from all over the Netherlands to end the situation. The DJI did not want to say anything about what exactly happened there.
