The invitation concerns doctors, medical assistants, nurses, as well as technical and catering teams.
“When they can take a break, we hope that this time will help them, as well as their loved ones, to recharge their batteries, that they can feel our deepest gratitude for their sacrifice and their heroism”, added Robert Isom, the president of American Airlines.
According to figures from John Hopkins University on Saturday, New York City had more than 330,000 cases of the new coronavirus and nearly 26,000 deaths. At the heart of the hospital response to the crisis, Elmhurst Hospital increased its initial resuscitation bed capacity by 500%, while suffering from a shortage protective equipment.
