Stadtwerke Iserlohn keep Erika Küchenberg warm

Iserlohn.
The company, which has nothing to do with the water damage, spontaneously helped the 75-year-old.

There is at least one positive development now for Erika Küchenberg, whose house – as reported – has not been heated since January 12th after water ran into the cellar.

“Stadtwerke Iserlohn responded to the article in the local newspaper and offered us to help,” says one of the two sons of those affected, André Küchenberg. Stadtwerke Prokurist Peter Grabowsky explains: “Our employee Holger Hassler, who had seen the Christmas emergency service and the whole thing from the start, was particularly committed to it.” Even if the supplier had nothing to do with the accident, everyone agreed been: “We can’t let the poor woman, who is also our customer, sit there like that.”

So yesterday a so-called Heat-Boy was installed in the cellar of the senior citizen. This is a mobile heating system that virtually replaces the burner of the oil heating system and runs via a power connection. Anyone who uses district heating and is affected by construction work on the lines will also be supplied with such a device. “It was currently not needed, and in order not to burden our customers, we have organized everything so that, for example, the assignment with Ms. Küchenberg is on the way,” explains Grabowsky. Consuming the Heat-Boy would result in increased electricity costs for the senior citizen, but they would also agree on this.

The family is also grateful to the fire brigade

André Küchenberg said in an interview with the local newspaper: “We are very grateful to the municipal utilities for this quick and unbureaucratic help.” The night of Christmas Eve had occurred and had made her pump available for almost three weeks, but to this day regularly asked how the 75-year-old was doing and whether a solution was in sight.

A municipal employee has now contacted Küchenbergs and announced that drainage will be examined with the help of a camera on Monday. “To do this, the pump, which continues to run, should be switched off from time to time – I pointed out the Heat-Boy to him, not that it would break when water ran into the cellar again,” reports André Küchenberg. He is more than astonished about the further hint that the city is waiting for a statement from those affected. “What should we as laypeople say about this?” He asks himself. The Küchenbergs have meanwhile turned the matter over to their lawyer, even though they really didn’t want to.
