Stadler Lands $270 Million Deal to Modernize Arlanda Express

A-Train AB, the operator of the Arlanda Express line connecting Arlanda Airport and Stockholm Central Station, has awarded Stadler a contract worth 250 million CHF (approximately $270 million USD) to supply seven new FLIRT (Fast Light Intercity and Regional Train) trains. The agreement includes an option for one additional train.

The new trains are slated to replace the existing fleet, which has been in operation as 1999. Production is scheduled to commence at Stadler’s Rhine Valley SG facility by the end of 2026, with the new units expected to enter service by the end of 2029.
