Officially
What had been hinted at in the past few days is now official. Christian Conteh leaves FC St. Pauli a year before the end of his contract and joins Feyenoord Rotterdam for the coming season. Both clubs confirmed the transfer on Thursday.
“Christian approached us with the express wish to take advantage of the opportunity he sees in Rotterdam. Chris would have had another year with the FCSP, but there was no prospect that he would like to extend his contract beyond. That is why, after all the considerations and constructive discussions with Rotterdam, we were able to find a good solution for all parties. We wish Christian all the best at Feyenoord, “explains St. Pauli sports director Andreas Bornemann.
Conteh had only made his professional debut at the “Kiezclub” last season and was last used on matchday 11 after a promising start due to a serious injury. In Rotterdam he meets former HSV sports director Frank Arnesen, who is active there as technical director.
