KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. The chairman of the MPR RI Bambang Soesatyo (Bamsoet) asked President Joko Widodo to dismiss the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani from his position. He considered that as a representative of the government, the state treasurer did not respect the institution he led.

The Deputy Chairperson of the MPR RI Fadel Muhammad also expressed the urge for Sri Mulyani to resign because Sri Mulyani often cut the MPR budget. Whereas the current number of DPR RI leaders is ten people, an increase from the previous only four people.

“We in this MPR have ten people in leadership, in the past there were only four, then ten people. But the MPR budget has actually decreased, it keeps dropping,” said Fadel, Tuesday (11/30).

Responding to this statement, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani spoke up. He admitted that he did not attend the meeting with the MPR RI on July 27, 2021 because it coincided with an internal meeting of the Minister of Finance with the President which had to be attended. Thus, Sri Mulyani’s presence in the meeting with the MPR was represented by the Deputy Minister of Finance (Wamenkeu) Suahasil Nazara.

Then, he did not attend the invitation to the MPR RI meeting with the Minister of Finance on September 28, 2021 because he clashed with a working meeting with the DPR RI Budget Board (Banggar).

The Minister of Finance said that the working meeting with the DPR Banggar at that time discussed the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) for Fiscal Year 2022. “Where the presence of the Minister of Finance is mandatory and very important,” said Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani in her Instagram account @sminindrawati, Wednesday (1/12) .

Meanwhile, regarding the MPR budget being cut in 2021, Sri Mulyani did it because of the state’s financial needs for handling the corona virus pandemic. Not only the MPR, the Minister of Finance said that the government was indiscriminate.
