The heavy rains and winds last night caused a turbonada in towns of the department of Florida.
The localities affected were 25 de Agosto and Florida capital. Wind gusts of between 102 and 120 kilometers per hour were recorded, causing roofs to blow off, trees to fall and power outages. There were no serious injuries, but there were two minor injuries, Mayor Guillermo López informed El País.
Until 09:00 this Sunday morning, 36 events had been reported. The mayor met with the Cecoed of the department and is touring the affected areas. At that meeting, López reported that the situation was more intense on August 25, although there were adverse events throughout the department due to storms and wind.
