The curve reverses slowly. Relatively spared from the coronavirus epidemic, Brittany had been seeing for several weeks
the curve of the number of people infected with Covid-19 climb every day. For the past three days, the trend has been decreasing, according to figures from the Regional Health Agency.

Three fewer people in the intensive care unit. Thirty who return home in the last 24 hours. The containment measures imposed since March 17 seem to be bearing fruit in Brittany. In the region, the number of cases of
Covid-19 confirmed by laboratory diagnosis since February 28 was 1,414 Tuesday evening. It’s 72 more than Monday, which again seems to show a slowdown in the spread of the epidemic.

According to the Covinfo site launched by Rennes residents and identifying multiple sources of data, 471 people are hospitalized in the region, including 141 in critical condition. In the hospital environment, 97 deaths are to be deplored, to which must be added 35 deaths of nursing home residents.

Brittany was still expecting a peak last week. It could never happen. “There are too many unknowns to say. But if we want to be optimistic, we can have the hope that the containment measures allow us to have the most flattened curve possible, “explained doctor Bertrand Gagnière, epidemiologist of Public Health France.
