At the end of the year, Spotify offers its users a special musical review of the year with “Spotify Wrapped”. Since December 1st you can click through it and listen to it. We know what was heard most in Stuttgart.

Stuttgart – On December 1st, Spotify published its musical review – Spotify Wrapped. Over the year, the data from the streams is collected and evaluated on Spotify. This gives users graphics and playlists for their own top artists, top songs, top podcasts and much more. Among other things, you can also see which songs have been heard the most globally and across Germany. We have now received the data for the city of Stuttgart from the PR agency “Schröder + Schömbs”. That was the most heard in the state capital in 2021.

Did Stuttgart hear the same thing as all of Germany?
A comparison with the Germany-wide evaluations is interesting. The top artists in Germany are in the first six places congruent with those from Stuttgart. Three of the four other artists are also represented in both rankings, only the positions in the ranking from seventh to tenth place differ. There is a difference. Instead of Nimo in Stuttgart, Justin Bieber makes it into the nationwide ranking.
The number one song in Stuttgart – “Madonna” – made it to number four in Germany. The first place in Germany – “Without you” – is in second place among the Stuttgarters. Two songs at the end of the top ten differ here. “Heat Waves” by Glass Animals and “good 4 u” by Olivia Rodrigo make it into the German ranking. In the Stuttgart ranking, however, “Your Love (9PM)” from A7S, ATP, Topic and “Ask me not” from Jamule, Miksu / Macloud, Nimo are represented.
The world’s most heard song performs worse
The most popular podcasts in Germany and Stuttgart are almost identical. The first three places as well as the fifth place are exactly the same. “Tagesschau in 100 seconds” made it to fourth place in Germany, in Stuttgart it was “Baywatch Berlin”. So Germany and Stuttgart heard largely the same thing on Spotify this year. Interesting in a global comparison: The top song in first place worldwide – “drivers license” by Olivia Rodrigo – only made it to tenth place in Germany. He is not represented in the Stuttgart top ten.
