Spotify started rolling out a karaoke feature

A new way of playing karaoke is taking over the world. To compete with the classic YouTube videos and the already forgotten DVDs with that content, Spotify has started to implement a karaoke feature in its service.

Despite the fact that this function is not yet available to all users and has not been formally presented by streaming music, some users have already been able to try it and its premise has spread through social networks.

In that sense, at this point we already know that the Spotify karaoke function takes as its starting point the feature with the lyrics of the songs that was added to the platform some time ago. Thus, in the same place where they can read the lyrics of a song, users can now activate this karaoke by pressing the “Sing” button and giving the app permission to use their phone’s microphone.

Once that function starts, the lyrics of the song they are listening to will be displayed so that they can sing it and, most striking of all, is that Spotify will evaluate their performance by giving a rating percentage on how close they were to the original artist in their performance..

For now this function not available to all users and there is no date yet for its global release. However, it seems that it is a feature that will be available to both users of the premium version and the ad-supported edition of Spotify.

However, if you want to try your luck and find out if you are part of the lucky ones who already have karaoke on Spotify, you need to have your app updated to the latest version regardless of whether your device is Android or iOS.

And then they just have to find a song they want to perform, scroll down to the lyrics section, press the options, choose the “Sing” selection and try to get 100%.
