On March 25, 2022, 4:22 p.m., Spotify has a price of EUR 134.3 on the Xetra stock exchange. The company is listed under “Telecom Services”.

We analyzed Spotify’s prospects based on 4 major categories. The stock receives a partial rating for each category. In an overall view, the results lead to the classification as “Buy”, “Hold” or “Sell”.

1. Investors: Investor sentiment is an important sentiment indicator for assessing a stock. Recently, the Spotify share was also the focus of discussions on social media. The majority of opinions published were positive. However, in the past few days, the opinion market has been particularly concerned with the negative topics surrounding Spotify. This circumstance triggers an overall “Hold” rating. In summary, the analysis of investor sentiment results in the rating “Hold”.

2. Sentiment and buzz: A longer-term view of communication on the Internet also makes an important contribution to assessing a share. For the evaluation, we considered both the criterion of discussion intensity, i.e. the frequency of reports, and the rate of mood change. Spotify showed interesting characteristics in this analysis. The intensity of the discussion changes greatly as increased activity is seen. This results in a “buy” assessment. The rate of mood change remained low, and hardly any changes could be identified. From this, the editors derive a “Hold” rating. The bottom line is therefore a “buy” rating.

3. Relative Strength Index: The Relative Strength Index (also Relative Strength Index, abbreviated RSI) is used in technical analysis to assess whether a stock is overbought or oversold. As a result, overbought stocks are more likely to see price setbacks in the short term, while oversold stocks are more likely to see price gains. For this point of analysis, we consider the 7-day and 25-day RSI for Spotify. First the RSI7: this is currently at 7.33 points, indicating that Spotify is oversold. This gives the security a Buy rating for the 7-day RSI. The 25-day RSI is fluctuating less in comparison. Contrary to the RSI7, Spotify is neither overbought nor oversold here. The security is therefore rated “Hold” for the RSI25. Together, the Spotify security receives a “buy” rating in this section.
