The 2023 6 Nations Tournament has barely ended when the players of the XV of France are already preparing for the 21st day of the Top 14. Many of them will not have any rest and will go directly to domestic competition.
Despite the fatigue accumulated during the Tournament, some players will be present on the field to defend the colors of their club. Charles Ollivon, the third line of Toulon, will start and captain during the trip to Lyon. Melvyn Jaminet, back and scorer for Stade Toulousain, will also start during the derby in Castres.
On the other hand, seven Toulouse players, including Antoine Dupont, will not play this weekend to be able to recover from their participation in the Tournament. Reda Wardi from La Rochelle and Jonathan Danty, who recently returned from injury, will also be rested.
Five players will not be present on the pitch due to injury or suspension. Paul Willemse, Matthieu Jalibert, Anthony Jelonch and Dorian Aldegheri are out injured while Montpellier Hérault Rugby’s Mohamed Haouas is serving a suspension after his red card against Scotland.
The Blues gave their all during the 6 Nations Tournament, but some players still have to play for their club. Fans will be able to admire their talent and energy on the Top 14 pitches this weekend.
