SPÖ applications to improve and strengthen the education system, from a legal right to all-day schools to the introduction of the opportunity index, today in the teaching committee
Vienna (OTS / SK) – “The federal government has been celebrating itself since Sunday for an alleged ‘eco-social’ tax reform that is neither social nor ecological. Meanwhile, in education, instead of ‘it costs what it wants’, ‘the main thing is, it costs nothing’!” , SPÖ education spokeswoman Petra Vorderwinkler again points out the fact that, despite the enormous challenges in the education system – which were mostly there before Corona, but have intensified – no initiatives from the education minister can be seen here. ****
The SPÖ is therefore using today’s teaching committee to focus on some of the numerous challenges facing educational institutions. “From strengthening elementary education, a legal right to all-day schools, as introduced in Germany, to increasing the number of school psychologists – especially now, after one and a half years of Corona:
The Federal Minister should actually not get bored, there would be enough to do, ”explains Vorderwinkler. Finally, she also pointed out the lack of support from the Federal Minister to the educational staff. Both the teaching time and the teachers are currently suffering from the additional effort that is left to the educational staff because the federal government would not have prevented the renewed corona chaos, but would have favored it:
“Here you should have used the summer to provide additional support staff at the schools. Teachers should teach during class, not test and settle files! ”(Conclusion) lk / bj
