Tom Holland will not be on social media for the foreseeable future. The 26-year-old Spider-Manactor has taken a break to monitor his mental health, he explains in a video on Instagram.
“I’ve taken a social media break for my mental health because I find Instagram and Twitter too overstimulating and overwhelming,” Holland tells his 67.7 million followers.
“I end up in a downward spiral when I read things about myself online and that is very harmful to my mental state, so I decided to take a step back and delete the app.”
Holland mainly made the video to promote the platform stem4, which helps teenagers with their mental health with apps, among other things. “There is still a stigma about talking about mental health,” says the actor. “We should not be ashamed of it, although I know that this is easier said than done.”
