Specialist congress for innovative neighborhood development & urban transformation: German City Day

Living and working in attractive neighborhoods in the future. A vision that is as rewarding as it is complex. But how does it work? And what do people mean by “livable” and “attractive”?

As a prelude to regular specialist events on urban transformation beats the Congress for innovative district development as an independent magnifying glass, several bridges at once by letting well-known personalities from a regional network of science, municipalities, companies and politics have their say on urgent, practical issues of modern neighborhood development.

The topic of urban transformation and innovative district development should grow at the EBZ in the future. Cities and districts throughout the Ruhr area and in North Rhine-Westphalia should be able to better find their own way of developing districts with the bundled knowledge from other “real laboratories”.

The hybrid specialist conference will take place on February 2nd with many exciting panels in the EBZ Bochum. On the following day, field visits are made at various locations in the Ruhr area.

The range of different aspects of inventory development, energy-efficient construction, urban logistics and mobility, architecture and building culture, ecological and social sustainability and much more are put up for discussion on current and future relevant topics

On February 2, 2023 at 5:30 p.m., Hilmar von Lojewski, Deputy Head of the Department of Urban Development, Construction, Housing and Transport at the German Association of Cities, will give an outlook on “Urban transformation to future neighborhoods – how can municipalities shape the change?” give.

Participation in the conference is free of charge.
