The KPK found 15 firearms when they searched the house Here Mahendra is related to the case of money laundering (TPPU) former Secretary of the Supreme Court (MA) Nurhadi. The firearm was found in a special room.
KPK Investigation Director Asep Guntur said that initially his party did not target looking for firearms during the search. However, the findings were revealed when investigators combed every room in the house Here Mahendra.
“I also happened to be there, it’s true that in a room there were found 15 pieces complete with ammunition, firearms, live ammunition,” said Asep at the KPK building, Jalan Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday (20/3/2023) .
“So we were also at that time because the weapon was not the object we were looking for, it was not included in the object we were looking for. But of course the whereabouts of these weapons had to be communicated and coordinated with the National Police,” he added.
Asep said the KPK had handed over the findings of the dozens of firearms to the National Police. In particular, the KPK has also coordinated with the National Police’s Security Intelligence Agency to trace the permits for possession of these weapons.
“We contacted regarding licensing issues because of the weapon, the possession of the weapon had a permit from the intelligence agency. So we coordinated and then a team from BIK came. Then we handed it over, because the identification of the weapon, will then be sorted by BIK. Then we will see if there is a permit later still in effect, of course there are rules of their own. Then those who don’t exist later can use the emergency law,” said Asep.
Police Investigate Origins of Guns at Dito Mahendra’s House
The KPK found 15 firearms (senpi) when they searched Dito Mahendra’s house in relation to the TPPU case of former Supreme Court (MA) secretary Nurhadi. The police are currently investigating the weapons.
“For the 15 guns that have been handed over by the KPK to the National Police, the Police are currently investigating the origins of the guns. update back,” said Karo Penmas Divhumas Polri Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan to journalists, Monday (20/3/2023).
Ramadhan has not been able to detail about the gun. They will provide details in the near future.
“We’ll explain later, we won’t say bits and pieces,” he said.
