Speaker of the Russian Parliament: Navalny poisoning case is a provocation to extend EU sanctions – Abroad – News

Laboratories in Germany, Sweden and France have confirmed that Navalny has been poisoned with the chemical weapon “Novichok” developed by the USSR.

However, Volodin, a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, urged attention to something else.

The German parliament should discuss whether the German “special services and officials have not been involved in this situation,” the speaker said.

He did not mention any arguments for this call.

“The reason for the provocation with Alexei Navalny is clear – to impose new sanctions and block our country’s steps to protect Belarus,” the speaker explained.

“After all the statements by the European Parliament (EP), we can say that foreign intelligence services are responsible for what happened to Alexei Navalny,” Volodin said.

The EP on Thursday strongly condemned Navalny’s assassination attempt in Russia and expressed concern at another use of neuroparasitic chemicals against Russian citizens.

In the resolution, MEPs called for an immediate international inquiry into the Navalny case.

On August 20, Navalny was ill during a flight from Tomsk to Moscow, the pilot made an emergency landing at Omsk airport and was unknowingly taken to Omsk Hospital with signs of poisoning. On August 22, Navalni was transferred from Russia to Germany, where he was treated by the Charite Clinic of the University of Berlin.

As the German government said on September 2, there is incontrovertible evidence that Navalny has been poisoned by a nerve-paralyzing warfare substance belonging to the Novichok group. This conclusion was also confirmed on Monday by the French and Swedish laboratories.

Navalni was awakened from a medical coma on September 7, but was also disconnected from a ventilator on Monday.
